
One of the problems with "leadership" is that it focuses on things like communication, inspiration, motivation, etc. All good things, but not enough to make an organization successful. The missing piece: execution.
The reason I focus on managers is that they need to have leadership skills, but also be able to execute. That is why I focus on specific behaviors.
This book focuses on the execution portion of the equation. It may be a bit too technical for some people or not cover the people side of the business, but it provides some key ideas.
