How Often Should you Look at Goals?

Obviously, you can’t spend all your time reviewing goals or you will never get a chance to get work done.

All teams should have a dashboard that lists the company and team goals on it and then individuals should have their own additional dashboard that they track as well. This dashboard should be easily accessible by all members of the team.

Use the individual dashboard during one-on-one meetings to review goal progress and the team/company dashboard during full team meetings.

How often should it be updated and reviewed:

Individual goals - updated daily/reviewed weekly or bi-weekly

Team - updated weekly/reviewed weekly

Company - updated weekly/reviewed monthly

The logic is that individual goals are reviewed most often because those are the ones the employee on which the employee has the biggest impact. Some companies only review company goals quarterly, which is fine. I find that monthly is more effective for making adjustments.
