Do the Important Things

A huge challenge for a manager is how to spend her time. She will have more tasks than time (that is the norm now). So prioritizing properly is critical.

Keep in mind the responsibility of the manager: get results and build/retain great teams.

The answer is prioritize these tasks:

1. Building relationships

2. Providing feedback

3. Coaching

4. Delegating

5. Developing

The rest is work that will feel productive, but won’t get you closer to your responsibilities.
